An absolutely gorgeous piece. Rich in texture, you feel that you could touch the feathers. With a slightly grim motif, the sparrow hawk has landed on her plucking perch, a kill in her talons, alert, she scans for danger, before tucking into her meal.

Andrews studio is situated in the depth of the countryside. He has taken many steps over the years to encourage songbirds to his garden, but does not begrudge the sparrow hawk her fair share when she comes skimming over the hedge. There is no record of what the finches think of this arrangement!

The piece is carved from a beautiful piece of Lime which glows a lovely honey colour. Andrew put well over two hundred hours of work into this carving, worth every second of that.

See if you can find the carvers signature carved worm on this piece.
