Carving No. 586

One of Andrew's favourite subjects, this time carved as a commissioned piece for a long term collector of his work. Carved from a solid piece of Lime wood , it is a result of many hours of pleasurable Kingfisher watching over the years ( Andrew is lucky enough to live within a short walk of a beautiful river, and a well stocked canal both replete with these handsome and majestic birds). As with most of his carvings of kingfishers it has been painted with watercolour to try to do justice to the gorgeous plumage.
